Shen Tian Asian Food Restaurant

Shen Tian Asian Food Restaurant Chinese restaurant

Overview

Shen Tian Asian Food Restaurant at 1010 W Highland Dr in Fulton feels like one of those hidden local gems that you stumble upon and instantly remember. The outside doesn’t scream for attention, but once you step inside, the aroma of fresh stir-fried noodles, steaming bowls of pho, and sizzling plates of teriyaki creates an atmosphere that pulls you in before you even sit down. Locals often talk about it as their go-to spot for casual dinners, while travelers passing through Kentucky are surprised to find authentic Asian flavors tucked away in this quiet town.

The menu here is wide-ranging, covering both comforting classics and bold dishes that show a deep understanding of traditional cooking techniques. I tried the General Tso’s chicken during my last visit, and it struck that perfect balance between crispy texture and tangy-sweet sauce. On another occasion, a friend recommended the beef lo mein, which turned out to be equally satisfying—loaded with fresh vegetables and just the right chew on the noodles. Portion sizes are generous, and that makes it great value, especially compared to chain restaurants in nearby locations. Families often order a mix of entrees to share, making the dining experience more communal, which is very much in line with Asian dining culture.

Reviews consistently mention not only the flavor but also the friendliness of the staff. The owner often comes by tables to check in, which adds to the welcoming vibe. From my experience, the service is quick without feeling rushed, making it a comfortable spot for both lunch breaks and relaxed dinners. It’s also worth noting that many guests appreciate the variety—whether you’re craving spicy Szechuan, light stir-fried veggies, or hearty fried rice, you’ll likely find something that fits your mood. Having spoken with a couple of fellow diners, they praised the consistency in quality, which isn’t always guaranteed at small-town restaurants.

What makes this place stand out is how it combines authenticity with approachability. The food reflects classic recipes, yet it’s adapted to suit a wide range of palates, which is why it appeals to both adventurous eaters and those who want familiar flavors. With its steady reputation, growing positive reviews, and convenient Fulton location, this restaurant has quietly built trust in the community. For anyone nearby or passing through, stopping at Shen Tian isn’t just about grabbing a meal—it’s about experiencing a slice of Asian culinary tradition presented with genuine care.

I order from Shen Tian at least once or twice a month and the food is always consistent! I have tried a few of the dishes but my favorite is the sweet & sour chicken. They give such a large portion that my husband and I get at least two meals out of one shared order! They also give free egg rolls with every purchase and are so nice. It’s a typical mom & pop Asian restaurant where their teen daughter takes the orders/runs the cash register while her parents cook in the back. It feels very 2000s and I really appreciate the laid back atmosphere. We always order togo as the restaurant as limited inside seating. Idk where the bad reviews are coming from because I have ordered dozens of times and have never had a bad experience, and my friends all rave about this restaurant too. Would def recommend!

The building can definitely be intimidating, but the food was DELICIOUS! Good quality meat and a generous portion, their prices are also so cheap! Hot, fresh, and you should definitely give it a try. I only waited maybe 15-20 mins after ordering.

HUGE portions for a reasonable price. I got General Tso's Chicken combo, Beef with broccoli combo with $2 extra beef, and chicken sticks. It all only came to $26.50. Since my husband doesn't eat leftovers I'll be eating on this for the next 3 days it's so much! Taste is excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food! Like my review please!

This food haven is almost hidden! The building is getting really old! The people who cook here are very good chefs! The Mongolian beef is awesome! We got a lot of food because that's their portions! We always order food to go.

I have enjoyed every meal I have tried there. Great friendly family with excellent food. Ham fried rice, Singapore mei fan, egg rolls, pork or house special Lomein, seafood delight, seafood soup and steamed dumplings are my current favorites. Wish it were buffet but they give you hefty portions and some surprise extras for being a customer. Take out or you can eat in. Best one in area in my book as non buffet restaurant. Robert Goodman
